last night, i tried smocking for the first time. i can see how it can be so easy but so difficult to do well. i’d love to try it on a tunic made from a man’s dress shirt. in the meantime, i tried a girl’s tunic/dress from a dress shirt and i’m very pleased with the results. this will be a summertime equivalent to the wool jumpers and a fabulous one-day sewing workshop.
